Hon. Naggayi Nabilah Sempala is a distinguished politician, a very vocal community and human rights activist, leader and Public administrator on the Standing committee of Human Rights in the Parliament of Kampala City in the Republic of Uganda. She has a wealth of experience in leadership and politics having served as an elected leader both at the local government and national level. She is very knowledgeable in Women’s advocacy strategies and is an avid Children Rights Defender. She is a Ugandan citizen of impeccable patriotic values, possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Languages (German and French) and also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, among other qualifications. She has presented at several international conferences and workshops and given various keynote addresses across the nation.
Nabilah is the Founder and Executive Director of Arms Around Africa Foundation. As the Executive director, she oversees all the activities of the organization.
Nasser Kimbugwe is a Detail-oriented IT professional as a software support specialist and systems/network technician. Skilled at operating in a wide range of platforms with excellent communication skills. Working as an IT consultant for 7 years at the Office of the Kampala Woman Member of Parliament Uganda, Nasser gained interest in supporting and solving issues affecting children, women, and youth. He has good skills in accounting, finance and office management. He worked with different companies like Best deals technologies as a Systems administrator, Impact Graphics as a creative website and graphic designer, Head of the finance department at Blue Dales School Makindye. He has completed a number of different IT, accounting and Graphic Design courses and technical skills such as Windows Server 2012 (MCSE), Windows Server 2012 (MCSA), Virtualization Technology (VMware, Hyper-V) CCNA, CCNP, ADOBE Creative Cloud, Quick books and Tally ERP accounting Course.
Nasser is a co-founder and the Director Finance and ICT at Arms Around Africa Foundation, he’s responsible for the overall financials, system support and maintenance including communications and website design.
Anwar Sadat is a co-founder at Arms Around Africa Foundation. He generates his 8 years of experience from working with different organizations like Uganda Youth Talents Against AIDS, Vision Counseling and Support Centre, and Haven Anti-AIDS Foundation. He is an all-around person, who is devoted to learning new things. His greatest strengthen is inspiring vulnerable children, women, and youth to become self-motivated as they develop that esteem of yes we also can make it in life. With his expertise in field work, he works directly with the organization’s community activities of youth livelihood and women empowerment. He is the head of the counseling and rehabilitation section of the organization.
John has a Bachelor’s degree in science in Marketing from Makerere University Business School, a Diploma in Law at Law Development Center and a Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Makerere University. He has 13 years’ experience working for various organizations which include Haven Anti-AIDS Foundation (HAF) where he worked as youth secretary and founder member, Support Program for Orphans, Widows and Elderly (SPOWE) as the Director and founder member and Aceto Industries as Head of Logistics. Throughout his years of working, he has acquired expertise including but not limited to office establishment, administration, team management, project management, financial management, mediation, communications and counseling. He has an intricate understanding of the social, technical, political and cultural environment he works in.
While at Arms Around Africa Foundation, he coordinates the Projects, Programs, social and economic activities in and outside AAAF, with the aim of involving all AAAF beneficiaries in development activities. He is in charge of project design, development and implementation that enables the organization to reach out to all our beneficiaries.
Johny Musisi is a professional photographer. He has studied photography at Jahlive and Superstar Films Studios for 3 years. He comes with 7 years of experience and has worked as the official photographer and Head of production for different companies like Freedom City Shopping Mall, organizations like Miss Curvy Uganda and personalities which include Eddy Kenzo, Dr. Jose Chameleon, Rema Namakula (Uganda’s Top Music Artists). Throughout his years of working, he has acquired expertise and a couple of awards as the #baddestphotographer of 2017 and 2018 respectively. He is also the CEO of Lenzstudios. He has an intricate understanding of the social, technical, political and cultural environments he works in.
Ivan Katerega Kyaterekera is a Bible scholar. He has a certificate in church administration and a certificate Grade III in Bible teaching from Global Pastors Training and Westminster Christian Institute respectively. For over 3 years he has worked for various organizations and ministries including the Center of Light Africa Ministries as an administrator and co-founder member, that focuses on teaching people to depend on God and improving their lives through talents and skills. He also worked with Exquisite Solutions as a dispatch Assistant and he is the current administrator of Soul Harvest Ministries – Namugongo and a co-founder nurturing souls of men to the full stature of God.
He provides administrative support like maintaining office files, taking meeting minutes, schedule meetings and board meetings as well as providing receptionist services to ensure organization operations are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
Joseph Ddungu Ssekitto
RESOURCE MOBILIZER
Joseph Ddungu Ssekitto has 10 years of experience as a social activist, an active participant in health and development issues that are affecting children, women, and youth. He is a Mandela Washington Fellow for Young African Leaders 2016 where he attained an Executive Certificate in Civic Leadership from Rutgers University - USA. He is a certified trainer at Peace Corps - US Mission Uganda, a Master Trainer at Rotary under Rotary Vijana Poa Program, An Activator (US Mission Uganda Youth Program) and Social Anthropologist (BA – Makerere University). He founded and worked with Haven Anti-AIDS Foundation as the Executive Director and Team leader/coordinator of the Youth AIDS Walks.
At Arms Around Africa Foundation, Joseph deals with all kinds of documentation, partnerships, fundraising, project and grants proposals aiming at collecting resources to serve our beneficiaries within the different parts of the country and Africa at large.
