AAAF Soccer Academy

About

Soccer is the only sport that youth in slums can participate in freely. Our outreaches have impacted many disadvantaged youths with talent in Sports within the slums around Kampala, Uganda. The program reaches and searches for talented children under 12, 14 and 16 years respectively. Through football, we have managed to organize sports Galas aiming at scouting young talent. We conduct football camps and select the most talented youth to nurture them. We are focused on maintaining mainstream youth as well as youth with talent in football/soccer and other sports including basketball, netball, and volleyball.

Our Goal

The main goal of the Academy is to change the mindset of young people within the slum areas through football. We work with coaches to support community football clubs through training, workshops and logistical contributions. Our aim is to nurture and expose talented football youth to perform nationally and internationally. Our operational areas include the major slums in Makindye, Nakawa, Kawempe, Rubaga, and Central regions of Kampala, Uganda.

Sula Lusonda Kayuki, 

Director 

As Head coach at AAAF Soccer Academy is a testament and guarantee of the professional foundation of the AAAF Soccer Academy. He has played football in the Uganda super division league, in renown clubs such as Express FC, Uganda Police FC and been a FUFA delegate in charge of Kampala district.

Among key football responsibilities, he has been the assistant General Secretary FUFA competitions committee, Chairman Kawempe District Football Association and CEO Express Sports Club. He is a licensed secondary school teacher and proprietor Central College Kawempe.

Nambaale Haruna,

Head Coach

As proprietor and Head teacher citizens primary school, he has nurtured and children football. Citizens Parents’ Primary School football team has unilaterally been the champion of the Kampala football championships from 2001 - 2019. Other key championships for Citizens Parents’ Primary School are 3 times winners of U14 Coca-Cola national championship (2006 Maluku, 2009 Mbarara, 2010 Fortportal, Odilo FUFA championships, EastAfrican champions league, Ndogo Kenya. He currently serves as welfare KCCA sports and games teachers association.

Farouk Kakooza,

Technical Coach

Is a former professional footballer and a product of community soccer clubs. He played with renown footballers in the Ugandan soccer fraternity like Ayub Kisaalita, and Waswa Dazo of Wakiso giants and Bagonza Henry of Express FC.

Prior to assuming this role in AAAF soccer academy, Farouk worked as a major sports gala organizer for Makindye division club’s tournament. His specialty is working closely with U16 youths.
